On January 1st 2014, the Desert Island Mixtape Project was launched. You are stranded on an island. You only have one song to listen to for the rest of your life. Each month a new band is chosen. This month's band was REM. A band that epitomized "college rock". A band that eventually graduated to become one of the biggest bands in the world. This month's survey produced interesting results. Not a single person chose "Everybody Hurts", which is arguably the band's biggest hit.
